We Need You To . . .



Chair or be a member of the Workshop Committee. This committee presents several workshops each year. Members research topics, engage a workshop leader, and attend to necessary details and logistics.

Chair or be a member or the Field Trip Committee. This committee schedules several fieldtrips each year. Members research potential sites, engage leaders, and set up logistics.

Chair the Merchandise Committee which is responsible for raising funds for GNPS through the sales of GNPS promotional items. Tasks include inventory management and sales at various GNPS venues to members and the public.

Chair or be a member of the Events Committee. This committee responds to requests for GNPS participation from other organizations. The committee determines the appropriate response for accepted requests including the topic and means of presentation (display board, brochures, etc.) and gathers the resources needed for the event.

Co-chair the Restoration Committee with David Zaparanick. This committee, in cooperation with other organizations, restores parks and public places using rescued native plants.

We are looking for someone to bring the beverages to the bi-monthly meetings (you will be reimbursed for the cost of the beverages). We also need someone to purchase the paper products and utensils for the refreshment table (you will be reimbursed for the cost of these items) and to arrive at the bi-monthly meetings early, to set up.

Volunteer Coordinator: Find volunteers to help with GNPS activities, such as the Members Garden Tour, the Wild Azalea Festival, and the Southeastern Flower Show. You will be given access to the membership database in order to target your search to members who live close to the tour gardens or whatever event is in need of volunteers.

Volunteer with the Stone Mountain Propagation Project to water, label plants and maintain our designated area within Stone Mountain Park. Lead a workshop on a propagation topic or a local hike to ID natives. Coodinate volunteer activities.

Help the Website Committee by visiting websites for organizations listed on the Events of Interest and Calendar Organizations Listing pages and provide a list and brief description of activities that would be of interest to GNPS membership.
