How Native Plants Influence Wildlife
Speaker: Dr. William Nye, Piedmont College professor and director of Innovation and Discovery Center.
As an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing as much as trail walking and backpacking the AT, Bill Nye bridges fields of science and the education of the iGen’ers with habitat management, native plants and wildlife, and environmental sustainability in his presentation. Presentation threads include:

• Non-native & Invasive Species Impact on Wildlife
• Habitat Management and Community Green Space Use
• Landscaping for Wildlife Support & Management
• How to “HOLD” Whitetail Deer on property and other potentially crazy endeavors

• Community Sustainability and the impact of iGen’ers
• Resources & National/Regional Incentives

Bill Nye is an Associate Professor in the School of Education and Director of the Piedmont College Innovation and Discovery Center facilitating experiential education in science, S.T.E.M., and the outdoors. Bill works with regional schools and students developing and assisting programs that impact student learning beyond the classroom including an ongoing AP student research project studying the
Chattahoochee River Bass and Piedmont College’s upcoming annual summer STEM Camp.
