Medicine and Food from Native Plants

June 18, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Not only are native plants very beautiful, they have great value to our native wildlife. Where would we be without the insects that pollinate most of the food we eat? It’s not just about honey bees – our native bees can fly circles around the honey bees when it comes to pollination. But just as important are the medicinal and food uses of native plants.

Which native plants are nutritious and/or medicinal? Focus will be on native plants found on rescues in Georgia or that are well-adapted to grow in Northwest Georgia. Our speaker will be Fran Forsyth, a long-time GNPS member.

Meet and greet begins at 6:30 and meeting at 7. Members are welcome to bring your favorite finger foods to be served at meet and greet. All meetings are free and open to the public. Come over to the Ag Center for an enjoyable program.
