Stone Mountain Program and Tour

June 21, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 11:30 am

Why Garden with Native Plants?

New to native plants, and wondering what makes them special? Want ideas on how to garden with them?  This multi-faceted program starts with a talk to introduce you to native plants and why we love them.  You will also tour two native plant gardens:  a full-sun pollinator garden and a woodland garden with native trees, shrubs and perennials  And, you’ll learn how GNPS propagates native plants with a visit to our Stone Mountain propagation site, where you’ll meet our professional Nursery Manager (and, if possible at the time, purchase a plant or two!).

Program leader: Stone Mountain Park Naturalist and Native Plant Gardener, Barcia Chasteen

Location/Directions: Confederate Hall Environmental and Historical Education Center.  Map showing Confederate Hall Parking Lot
