Stone Mountain Propagation Project Workday
June 30, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Our focus thru the summer will be on caring for the stock plants (re-potting, trimming, weeding, labeling, watering) and any site maintenance that needs attention. The plants we nurture are used in GNPS restoration projects, supporting replacement of select species within the Park and of course the GNPs plant sale(s).
The propagation effort goes on all year long, it’s success depends on regular volunteers, please consider spending a few hours with us sometime during the month, we have a workday scheduled every week.
To have the gate fee waived tell the attendant you are there for the GNPS workday.
Directions: GPS coordinates 33.812863, -84.158739, to the ‘Walking Trails’ parking lot. Please follow these directions, do not depend on the gate attendants to give you directions. (Do not go to Confederate Hall, the ‘walk-up’ trail lot)
If entering thru the WEST GATE off Memorial Dr take a LEFT, the parking lot is on the left in ~.2 mi. Park on the lower level & enter thru the small gate by the cabin. wonder on down to the other cabins/shelters.
From Hwy 78 and the main or EAST GATE, go straight then veer right at the y-intersection (toward Confederate Hall) the parking lot is on the right ~1mi.
