Tree and Shrub Id Workshop

This class will be an introduction to woody plant identification. We will focus on identification based on vegetative characteristics with some attention paid to reproductive structures. We will cover some basic terminology helpful for identification and introduce you to some of the tools used in identification such as dichotomous keys and what magnification can reveal. You will have a chance to work hands-on in the classroom and in the field.
Limit 15 people – advance registration is required.

There will be NO fee to enter the park: Attendees will be given a special code to enter the park without paying
Bring: snacks and drinks (lunch not provided); and a hand lens if you have one. Wear good walking shoes for the field portion. Note: during the field portion of the workshop there may be some uneven ground to traverse.
