Why Natives?: Educational Meeting in Dunwoody
March 29, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
THIS EVENT IS CANCELLED; WE PLAN TO RESCHEDULE IN THE FUTURE.
This meeting will be a panel discussion from a group of local experts: Our panel discussion topic will be “Why (and how to) Use Native Plants in Our Home Gardens.” Each panel member will present a 10 – 15 minute perspective on native plants. Then we’ll open it up for discussion with questions from our audience. Our panel participants will be:
Esther Stokes, Landscape Designer; Board Chair, Atlanta Audubon Society
Susan Meyers, Conservation Specialist, Monarchs Across Georgia
Holly Loscavio, Program Manager at Dunwoody Nature Center
Katy Ross, Owner, Night Song Native Plant Nursery, who will also have plants there to sell
Ellen Honeycutt, GNPS board member and native plant blogger, will serve as panel member and moderator.
The meeting will be at the beautiful North Woods Pavilion at Dunwoody Nature Center. Please join us for a lively discussion and networking. Meetings are free and open to the public. Bring a friend!
With the change in the governing structure of GNPS, GNPS board leadership is no longer organizing bi-monthly meetings in Atlanta. Members are encouraged to form groups that might become metro Atlanta chapters and host local educational events. This meeting is the second such event. Come meet your fellow members and exchange ideas about more local educational events.
