Southern Meadows is a 9 acre native plant garden in Talmo, GA, where Karin Hicks and her husband have done an extensive job of eradicating invasive non-native plants. Just a few of the replacements they have planted are Partridge Pea, Powderpuff plant, Spotted Bee Balm, and Golden Alexander. There are so many native trees, shrubs, ferns, vines, bog plants, and grasses too. They worked hard for their Gold Native Plant Habitat Certification and are beginning to transform the lot next door into a native garden as well.
