SUMMARY:Old City Cemetery Native Plant Garden (Macon)
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, August 31\, 2024 from 7:30-9:30 am\, chapter members and friends are invited to gather at the Old City Cemetery to weed and care for the garden.  Outside work clothes recommended: long pants\, long sleeves\, gloves\, hat\, work boots). Bring a water bottle and any tools you have to dig and weed. Participants must be 18 or older and must sign the GNPS waiver of liability before volunteering. DESCRIPTION:The Fringed Campion Chapter welcomes volunteers on Saturday\, March 9. 2024 from 10 am until noon at the Old City Cemetery in Macon\, GA.  We plan to weed\, plant\, and add fabulous and informative plant ID markers so that visitors can learn about the Georgia native plants near the entrance and in the prairie.\n\nWear long sleeves and pants\, appropriate work shoes\, a hat\, and bug spray. Bring gloves\, tools\, and a water bottle. SUMMARY:Plant a Meadow Work Day at Old City Cemetery
DESCRIPTION:Come join Fringed Campion Chapter members and friends on Sunday\, October 22nd at 2 PM to begin planting the next phase of our Community Foundation of Central Georgia Downtown Challenge Grant 2.0 Project at the Old City Cemetery.  The native plant meadow has been bordered with bricks\, existing vegetation smothered with cardboard topped with mulch and compost\, and is now ready for fall planting. \nOld City Cemetery is located at the corner of Cherry St. and 7th St.  in downtown Macon\, GA. \nRecommended to wear long sleeves and pants\, appropriate work shoes\, a hat\, and bug spray. Bring gloves\, tools\, and a water bottle. If we run out of garden work to do\, we can tackle non-native invasive plants in the cemetery.
