20th Annual Georgia Native Plant Symposium

Our 20th Annual Georgia Native Plant Society Symposium was held March 7, 2015 at the Georgia Perimeter College, Clarkston campus, Atlanta, GA, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Our program included keynote speaker, Dr. Alan Weakley, Director, UNC Herbarium, North Carolina Botanical Garden and author of “Flora of the Southern & Mid-Atlantic States”. We also enjoyed programs by Patricia-Kyritsi Howell, clinical herbalist, author, chef and teacher; Georgann Schmalz, ornithologist, three time Past-President of the Atlanta Audubon Society; and George Sanko, CEO of the GPC Botanical Garden on the schedule. The symposium included an optional tour of the Georgia Perimeter Native Plant Botanical Garden.
