Two of our chapters have educational presentations coming up in August. Whether you are a GNPS member, a member of the chapter or just someone interested in learning more, please join us at one of these events. Our meetings are always free and open to the public. Come get to know us!
Tuesday, August 9th in Gainesville, GA (northeast of the metro area), our Redbud Project Chapter will have a presentation on “Pollinators and Beneficial Insects – Their Relationship to Native Plants.” The speaker will be Karin Hicks, naturalist, blog author, and member of GNPS. Visit her blog in advance and see some of the beautiful photos she will share: http://gardeningsoul.blogspot.com/
In addition, special guest Linda Chafin will be there signing copies of her new book “Field Guide to the Wildflowers of Georgia and Surrounding States”
Tuesday, August 16th in Carrollton, GA (west of the metro area), our West Georgia Chapter will have a presentation on the Annual Wildflower Pilgrimage in the Great Smoky Mountains. Dorothy Rothbart will share her photos and insights from her April trip to the Wildflower Pilgrimage in Gatlinburg.
