The Annual Meeting will be held in the meeting room of the Centerville Branch of the Houston County Public Library System (206 Gunn Rd., Centerville, GA 31028). **Masks required** Chapter business will be discussed, elections for the Chapter Board of Directors will be held, and a preview of upcoming activities will be shared.
Following the business meeting, guest speaker Karen Le will present “Planting a Garden for Georgia Pollinators.” Karen Le will share her passion for native plants and pollinators. Her goal is to become a pollinator-friendly landscaper helping homeowners understand that their yard, big or small, can make a difference in the fight to save our pollinators.
Members are encouraged to bring native plant seeds or cuttings to share. Since the event will be in the library, please package carefully. Native plants and seeds only. Nativars are allowed.
Bring seed and cuttings already labeled and packaged. The label should include botanical name, common name, growers name, year seed was harvested, where they were grown (for example, Dodge County), any interesting story associated with the seed, any growing tips. Obviously, not all this information is required, but more information helps the native plant enthusiasts succeed with your seed.
Cuttings should have the “plantable” end wrapped in a paper towel with the “plantable” end wrapped with a plastic bag or plastic wrap and bound with twine or rubber band.
