Plant List: Trees such as white oak (Quercus alba), American beech (Fagus grandifolia), American holly (Ilex opaca); shrubs such as blueberry (Vaccinium), sparkleberry (V. arboreum), black gum (Nyssa sylvatica), hearts a bustin’ (Euonymus americanus, winterberry (Ilex verticillata), dwarf pawpaw (Asimina parviflora), some Piedmont azalea (Rhododendron canescens); perennials such as pipsissewa (Chimaphila maculata), elephant’s foot (Elephantopus), Tipularia, Goodyera, mountainmint (Pycnanthemum), bluemist flower (Conoclinium coelestinum); groundcovers/ferns such as running cedar (Diphasiastrum digitatum), partridgeberry (Mitchella repens), grape fern (Sceptridium), ebony spleenwort (Asplenium platyneuron), cinnamon fern, royal fern, and an assortment of native sedges and grasses.
