WD Thomson Park Workday

The Friends of WD Thomson Park will have their February workday on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023. As always, we will supply tools, water and some snacks. (Clean work gloves will be available if needed, but it’s always better if you can bring your own!) This month’s meeting spot is in the lower parking lot, between the picnic shelter and the field.
Our projects this month will include clearing brush and removing invasives from the hillside between the picnic area and Mason Woods Dr. We began clearing this area last year and hope to hit it hard in the coming months, clearing the area that starts just south of the entrance drive to the parking lot and proceeding south along the hillside toward Mason Mill Rd. In addition, we will be clearing the southernmost area of the restoration site near the ford across the creek and, if conditions are favorable, continue planting native plants in the meadow. We will work from 2:00 to 5:00pm, but please join us whenever you can.
