West GA Chapter Weed Wrangle

January 15 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

The West Georgia Chapter is hosting a Weed Wrangle to remove invasive plants at the Buffalo Creek Trail. Everyone is invited to celebrate the MLK National Day of Service by participating in this environmental restoration project. Removal of invasive plants allows native plants, insects, birds, and other wildlife to flourish in the 40-acre Buffalo Creek tract.

No experience is necessary; our restoration volunteers will show you what to do.  Wear sturdy shoes (no sandals), dress in layers, and bring work gloves and water to drink.  This event is not suitable for young children due to environmental hazards such as uneven terrain, the creek, thorns, sharp objects, etc.  Older children may participate if a parent or guardian works alongside them throughout the event.

Park at the Carrollton Greenbelt trailhead at 515 Old Newnan Rd., and walk down the Greenbelt to the Buffalo Creek entrance. If parking spaces at the Greenbelt trailhead are full, park at the Carroll County Agricultural Center at 900 Newnan Rd. and follow the walking path down through the woods to the work site.
