We have some exciting news to share with you. A new chapter of GNPS is forming in your area! The Maritime Chapter of GNPS will cover the counties of Effingham, Liberty, McIntosh, Chatham, Glynn, Wayne, Camden, Bryan, Long, Charlton, and Brantley.
Background
Interest in a chapter centered in the coastal counties has grown as the needs for native plant education and conservation have grown over the past couple of years. A core group of volunteers came together earlier this year to begin the step-by-step process of forming a chapter. Now, the Maritime Chapter is ready to host its first meeting and elect its first board of directors. Much appreciation goes to the Coastal Plain Chapter, which has offered programs and events in as much of the coastal area as possible over the last 10 years. We would like to thank the board of directors of the Coastal Plain Chapter for their support and encouragement for the new Maritime chapter.
What We Are Asking You To Do
We are asking if you would like to change your current chapter affiliation in the GNPS Member Portal to the new Maritime Chapter. Click here to let us know your preference, even if you have been able to change it yourself. If we do not hear from you, we will not make any changes to your membership. Please try to submit a response by August 8th, so the chapter formation committee can invite new members to the first meeting.
