We hope that you can join the Fringed Campion Chapter on June 28, 2026 at 3 PM for a pollinator walk hosted by Rebecca Husted Gimenez and Mark Husted. This walk will explore their 25 acre property where they have been working to support pollinators and native plants.
This unique site contains multiple habitats, including swampland & riparian zones as well as more developed pasture spaces, and hosts a broad variety of unique pollinators and native plants.
Following the afternoon pollinator walk, participants are encouraged to stay on site if they would like to attend the evening Moth and Bat Watching Event.
Location
We will meet at Technical Large Animal Rescue (1787 GA-18, Macon, GA 31217). There is ample parking available.
Facilities
Restrooms and potable water are available, though participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own snacks and beverages. Participants staying on site between activities are encouraged to bring a folding chair.
Safety
The walk should be considered moderate and may include: Getting wet & muddy, stepping over fallen branches, roots & rocks on the path, exposure to ticks, mosquitoes, gnats, and everything that nature might send our way. Let’s go have fun!
We encourage all participants to wear long sleeves and pants, closed-toe shoes or boots, and recommend wearing a hat.
Ticks will be active – you’ve been warned. Do what you need to do to protect yourself.
Participants will also be asked to sign the Georgia Native Plant Society Liability Waiver upon arrival at the event.
Event may be cancelled due to weather or for other unforeseen reasons. Providing your contact information will allow event coordinator to reach you, if necessary, with any additional information or updates.
