Report of Mary Scott Nature Park workday February 03, 2018

DeKalb County delivered a dumpster to the eastern entry of Mary Scott Nature Park which was filled with privet, Chinese holly, Japanese holly, Mahonia, trees of heaven, acuba, nandina, cherry laurel, English ivy, and Southern Magnolia. Fourteen Beta Club members from Lakeside High School and six members of Boy Scout Troop 77 helped neighborhood residents and Georgia Native Plant Society members remove the nonnative plants from the side entries to the park. Ten adults worked. Much more work is required. We hope you’ll help.

The next scheduled workday will be Saturday, March 03, 2018, 2:00-4:00 pm when we plan to continue following the 2018 action plan of removing exotic pest plants.
