Report of Mary Scott Nature Park workday January 5, 2019

Five volunteers pulled English ivy from the center-western border of Mary Scott Nature Park. Five yard waste bags are at the front of the park for DeKalb County sanitation pickup.

Scouts from Troop 77 removed garbage from the park. The scrap metal was separated out for sale to a recycling business. Some glass and other debris were moved to the county provided dumpster. Much plastic and broken glass remains in the park.

The meeting of volunteers for the Mary Scott restoration site was at ChocoLate on Shallowford Road immediately after the workday.

The next scheduled workday will be Saturday, February 2, 2019, 2-4 pm when we plan to continue removing nonnative plants. Please bring your gardening gloves, soil knife/trowel, and kneeler to help.
