Report of Mary Scott Nature Park workday September 1, 2018

Three volunteers feverishly pulled crab grass, dandelions, and mulberry weeds from the parking lot bed at Mary Scott Nature Park. The crab grass has been allowed to go to seed, so all volunteer time in 2019 will be spent weeding a garden and not doing restoration work. There are five bags of weeds near the front garbage can for the county to remove to compost. Three posts were added to the edge of the traffic circle to encourage drivers to remain on the driveway.

Fie to whoever doesn’t remove plastic tape from the cardboard submulch.

The next scheduled workday will be Saturday, October 6, 2018, 2-4 pm when we plan to remove vines and other plants imprisoning the trash that we plan to remove November 9. Please bring your gardening gloves, soil knife/trowel, and kneeler to help.
