Former chapter president, Sherrie Hines, will be doing a VIRTUAL presentation on Saturday, January 24th from 11 am – 12 pm about growing native plants from seed. Sherrie will present about her experience growing native plants from seed. Sherrie has been growing native plants for some time and has some great advice for how to be successful with this great way to propagate native plants.
Sherrie will share everything you need to know to successfully start native plants from seeds, whether you want a largely hands-off option (like winter sowing) or if you prefer to more actively manage your seedlings by growing them indoors. Topics will include seed selection, germination codes, supplies, stratification, hardening off, and more! Although it’s getting a little late, there is still time to start your seeds for the spring!
This event is free and open to the public regardless of whether you are or are not a member of the Athens-East Piedmont Chapter of the GNPS.
