Chapter Event: Basic Plant Identification Workshop

August 8, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

The forming committee of the North Metro Chapter of GNPS is hosting a workshop on Basic Plant Identification on Sunday, August 8th at 9 am at Old Rucker Farm in Alpharetta. The workshop should last about 90 minutes.

This class will be held outdoors using printed materials that you can write on and take home (you might bring a clipboard to make writing on them easier). We will also bring some sample plant materials to illustrate the concepts and can walk around the property to identify other plants there. Since woody plants (trees and shrubs) provide sturdy examples, we will focus on them but the concepts you learn can be extended to perennials and herbaceous plants.

The address for the park is: 900 Rucker Road, Alpharetta, GA

If the workshop is popular, we will repeat it on a Saturday in a couple months. There is no charge for the workshop but space may be limited. If you plan to attend, please email us at ellenhoneycutt @ gnps.org. This email is being sent to all GNPS members who have indicated that they want to be affiliated with the North Metro Chapter.

Forming committee: Carling Kirk, Ellen Honeycutt, Hilary Wilson, Renee Hood, and Connie Ghosh
