This was our first workday of 2023, and it was cold!  — temperature was just a little above freezing.  Just two dedicated volunteers, Mary Ann and Lea, braved the weather to come out and work for an hour.  They cleared English ivy, privet, and Japanese honeysuckle downslope from the pavilion.  A passing park user inquired about the work they were doing, which gave them the chance to explain about how we remove invasives and plant native plants.  By so doing they accomplished our third objective, which is to educate the public about native plants and the communities in which they grow.  Our next work day will be Saturday, February 11, from 10 am till noon.
