At our February 28 work day, our band of intrepid volunteers removed a large number of invasive plants at the upper Buffalo Creek trailhead, adjacent to the Carroll County Agricultural Education Center.  Thanks to the thorns on the Bradford pear trees, no one went home without scratches, but we were proud of how much we accomplished.

We’ll finish clearing invasives in this area next week, weather permitting.  Also, posts are being installed for trail signage, and work continues in “The Nest,” our designated bird sanctuary.  Please watch our Facebook page (“Georgia Native Plant Society – West Georgia Chapter”) for work day information, including weather cancellations and schedule changes.
