Dragonflies 101 – West Georgia Chapter

August 15, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

The West Georgia Chapter’s August meeting features a presentation on dragonflies by naturalist Rose Guerra. Did you know that dragonflies spend most of their lives underwater? This program covers the basics about dragonflies with lots of fun facts, and touches on the most common dragonflies in our area.  Rose will also cover gardening to attract these exciting, jewel-like, mosquito-eating machines. Join us at 6:30 PM for a reception with light refreshments, followed by the presentation at 7:00.

Speaker Bio:  Rose is a New Orleans native who moved to the Atlanta area in 1988 with a freshly-minted computer science degree, but her true passion has always been nature and wildlife. Rose’s wildlife and education experience includes animal rehabilitation, performing in Zoo Atlanta’s free-flighted bird show, and leading many bird walks, garden club/master gardener programs, school field trips, canoe trips, and scout programs.
