North Metro Atlanta Chapter Meeting – June 22nd
June 22, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm
On Tuesday June 22nd, 7:30PM, the North Metro Atlanta Chapter of the Georgia Native Plant Society is meeting virtually to elect temporary officers, review our proposed bylaws and plan some activities in the North Metro Atlanta area, including a plant sale in the fall!

Are you interested in helping guide this chapter’s future? We’re in need of volunteers for temporary officers. These brave folks will lead us until we hold another election after we are approved as an official chapter. We will need a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. You may ask, what responsibilities do these roles have?
- President: The president presides over board meetings and is a member of all committees. The president appoints most committee chairs and works with other officers and committee chairs to develop meeting agendas and drive initiatives.
- Vice President: The vice president is a backup for the president and can perform duties as the president delegates.
- Secretary: The secretary keeps the minutes of the meetings of the members and of the Board and is the keeper of records. The secretary can also perform duties delegated by the president and vice president.
- Treasurer: The treasurer is responsible for the funds of the chapter, including: preparing the budget, financial statements and reports, disbursing funds, and keeping records of transactions. The treasurer is also the chair of the finance committee.
If you are willing to step up to help or have any questions about these roles, reach out to the GNPS Membership/Chapter Relations committee at membership@gnps.org.
