The GNPS Spring Plant Sale is quite an event (in fact, Atlanta Magazine recognized our sale as the Best Plant Sale in Atlanta in 2014)! It requires a lot of planning, a lot of hands-on volunteers and a whole lot of passion and dedication to native plants. Planning for the event begins in the fall of the preceding year with the Spring Plant Sale Committee, and all the plans and preparations come to life during the two set up days before the big day. Our truly generous volunteers join us for one or both of the days beforehand that it takes to get the event site ready for the sale. These are busy and sometimes long days, but the excitement among the volunteers and membership grows as we set out our lovely plants for the next morning!

Hundreds (that is not an exaggeration) of native plant enthusiasts line up the morning of the sale and rush in with their plant lists as soon as we open the gates (well, caution tape)…. We have volunteers that help shoppers locate the plants they are looking for and make recommendations for what will grow in the sun, shade, dry soil, wet soil and so on. We have native trees, shrubs, perennials, grasses, ferns, vines and sometimes even bog and aquatic plants. Always popular are the native azaleas which are all locally grown and pesticide free. We care about our pollinators here in Georgia and do our best to get neonicotinoid-free plants.
Start putting your plant list together and come see us in the spring! (You can check back on this page for updates on date, location, and time information.)
