Report of Mary Scott Nature Park workday August 4, 2018

Three neighbors and GNPS members met at Mary Scott Nature Park to remove seeding plants. Two volunteers weeded crab grass and dandelions from the parking lot bed. One volunteer concentrated her efforts on pulling weeds from the wild flower bed between the Presbyterian church and the park. The mountain mint in the parking lot bed was blooming and attracting the most pollinators.

The next scheduled workday will be Saturday, September 1, 2018, 2-4 pm when we plan to pull seeding plants like Microstegium, Japanese chaff flower, Asian lady’s thumb, and mulberry weed from along the paths. Please bring your gardening gloves, soil knife/trowel, and kneeler to help.
