Report of Mary Scott Nature Park workday August 06, 2016

It was a hot morning when six neighbors and GNPS members met at the Mary Scott Nature Park to combat exotic pest plants, like Microstegium, privet, chaff flower, and Chinese holly. A flat of common milkweed was planted near the Briarcliff wooded margin. We plan to enhance the area with other sun-loving wildflowers and grasses to create a pollinator friendly garden patch. Terry Sutton with Cascade Springs joined us to offer plant identification skills to the volunteers.

The next scheduled workday will be Saturday, September 03, 2016, 1:00-3:00 pm.
