The Coopers have a small lot in southeast Atlanta and are active in promoting native plants. Their free library with information on native plants is helping to educate the neighborhood. The trees in their yard include a white oak (Quercus alba) planted by Trees Atlanta. Inside the fenced front yard, you will find goldenrods (Solidago), Georgia aster (Symphyotrichum georgianum), and yuccas (Yucca filamentosa). They also welcome the less cultivated plants, false lettuce (Lactuca floridana) and pokeweed (Phytolacca americana) on their property. Congratulations on receiving a gold level certification!
