The North Georgia Mountains Chapter of the Georgia Native Plant Society

Overview

The North Georgia Mountains Chapter of the Georgia Native Plant Society formed in 2021 with members spanning across Lumpkin, Towns, Union, White, and Rabun counties. We are proud to be representing this part of the state and look forward to seeing our membership grow.

Meetings

The North Georgia Mountains chapter meets once a month at the Union County Public Library, Conference Center. All meetings are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. – 12 noon and are open to the public.   We hope you’ll join us!

Voice Your Support for House Bill 145: Sweetbay Magnolia as the State Flower 

Exciting news! Representative Deborah Silcox (R-Sandy Springs) and cosponsors Rep. Scott Hilton (R-Peachtree Corners), Rep. Jan Jones (R-Milton), Rep. Ron Stephens (R-Savannah), and Rep. Matt Reeves (R-Duluth) have filed House Bill 145 to change the state floral emblem to sweetbay magnolia. The bill will go to the Special Rules Committee for consideration.
