Great Southeast Pollinator Census at Old Rucker Park
What: Great Southeast Pollinator Census (GSEPC)
Who: Anyone, any age
Why: To create sustainable pollinator habitat, increase entomological literacy, and generate useful data about pollinator populations
When: Friday-Saturday, August 23-24, anytime
Where: Old Rucker Park, 900 Rucker Road, Alpharetta, GA 30009
How: Do-it-yourself count sheets and ID packets will be available. A count takes only 15 minutes, may be conducted at any time and can be done more than once.
GNPS members and non-members alike are invited to visit the GNPS Educational Garden and cut flower garden at Old Rucker Park in Alpharetta on Friday-Saturday, August 23-24 to participate in the 6th annual Great Southeast Pollinator Census (GSEPC). Kristen Orr, volunteer and education coordinator for the
Alpharetta Community Agriculture Program, which is headquartered at the park, will have count sheets and ID packets set out for people to come on their own time to do the count. The census is open to people of all ages and takes only 15 minutes to complete. Counts may be conducted at any time during the two days and can be done more than once.
