Many signs of spring were evident at Heritage Park during February. The photo (courtesy M. Teal) shows some of the beautiful Virginia bluebells (Mertensia virginica) that came into full bloom as the weather warmed.  During our February work day, work continued at the Pavilion Garden with weeding and planting, as well as down by Nickajack Creek, where we removed invasive privet and wisteria and planted natives like golden ragwort (Packera aurea).

Our next work day is March 11.  We’ll continue work on the Pavilion Garden and creekside, as well as cleanup and removal of invasives in the Woodland Shade Garden.
